final project
for my final project I decided to do a portrait of one of my favorite music artists PNB Rock. I do not enjoy perfecting portions. I struggled with portions at first but towards the end everything looked very similar to my reference photo. The shading was the most fun part. I do not like the shirt but I do like the face’s shading.
sand painting
I enjoyed this project it was very relaxing. The only frustrating part was I had to layer the sand multiple time to get bright pigment. I decided to put value throughout the s’s and outline them. Then I decided to put a dark blue on the trinity knots to compliment the inner portions. This was a very fun project.
plaster sculpture
I started with the idea of a DNA strand and then I wanted to simplify it. As I started the idea began to change. I ombréd the paint from a dark blue and dark green into a pastel color. I am happy with the outcome of my project. I don’t like this method as much as others but it was okay.
portait of Chris Brown
when I began this project I thought I was going to dislike this project a lot. I would say I struggled at first. I worked at it a lot at the shale of the face until I finally got a grasp on it. After I got the shape of the face I flew through adding value through the piece. This is my favorite portrait I have made. I have improved a lot from last year. I am extremely happy with this.
practice face parts
I am extremely happy with the nose and eyes. I need to work on details in the lips and ears.
final project
practice watercolor
The first pictures are my references. I used Gina’s stippling to see where to place the shadows. As I continued working on these techniques I got better. I am happy with the outcome of these. I wish I would’ve gotten better value in the bottom rose. Over wise I am happy with this project.
I was pleased with these practice. These are the various watercolor methods we tested out.
final watercolor
i like that the flower and the butterfly pops out. I wish I would have put the flower more over to the side and larger. I wish I would've challenged myself a little more.
watercolor
this was my rough draft. I decided to challenge my self with a flower and a butterfly. For the background I will probably try to make it look like rain drops using alcohol.
fiber art
I learned how to weave fairly well. I wasn't a huge fan of this project because I have no patience. I also get distracted very easily. After the fourth twill I began to get it done fairly well. I am happy with the outcome of my project.
sketchbook
I have gotten all my pages together for my sketchbook. I have also started my inpage I used watercolor for these. Also I painted my cover and I decided to use acrylic. So far I am very happy about the outcome.
